We anticipate that the ICAADE 2017 program will feature a combination of plenary and parallel sessions over two and a half days with a field trip on the final afternoon. There will be an opening reception on the evening of Sunday, June 25. The schedule for Monday, June 26, will alternate plenary and parallel sessions followed by a reception in the exhibit hall. Tuesday, June 27, will follow a schedule similar to Monday's except that the evening will feature the conference banquet. On Wednesday, June 28, morning sessions will be followed by an afternoon excursion. Lunches and tea/coffee breaks will be included on all three days. Further information regarding the ICAADE 2017 program will be added here as it becomes available. You may find the ICAADE 2015 program to be a useful reference in the interim.

CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

The Icebreaker Reception will be held at the Inn of Waterloo from 6:00pm - 9:00pm on Sunday, June 25, with conference registration opening at the Inn of Waterloo at 4:00pm. Conference registration all other days will be at St. Jerome's University, the conference venue, starting at 9:00am.

FIELD TRIP

There will be a choice of two field trips offered on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 28:

1. rare Charitable Research Reserve, a 900+acre land trust and environmental institute situated at the confluence of the Grand and Speed Rivers.  The reserve is a beautiful and culturally significant landscape and is home to an incredible array of flora and fauna, some of which are ranked significant regionally, provincially, nationally, even globally. On this walking tour of rare you will start at rare’s ECO Centre, an 1840s limestone slit barn and companion farmhouse, and follow a footpath trail to the Grand River with opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way. Guided by rare staff, learn about the history of the land and the current restoration and research projects underway, including a prototype amphibious pavilion designed by the Buoyant Foundation Project. The trip will conclude with an optional visit to rare’s North House. This 800 sq ft solar home was designed by students from the University of Waterloo, Ryerson University and Simon Fraser University as a green housing model for northern climates.

2. Pillitteri Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON will be offering a guided walking tour of their estate, including their production facilities and unique barrel cellar and a complimentary wine tasting. For more information about Pillitteri winery, visit their website: https://www.pillitteri.com/

Please use the button below to select your preference of field trip. A minimum number of participants for a particular field trip will be required to ensure that it will be offered.

Please note that one of the original field trip options, to Twin Dolphin Canada, is no longer available due to unforeseen circumstances.
